HONDA MALAYSIA ANNOUNCES PRODUCT UPDATE FOR 93,929 UNITS OF HONDA VEHICLES (2003 – 2016 YM)

7 March 2016 – Honda Malaysia today announced that it is taking another proactive measure to ensure customer safety by changing the battery in 93,929 units of Honda vehicles.

This product update involves the replacement of the 12V battery for the City (2003 - 2014 YM & 2016 YM), Jazz (2009 YM, 2012 & 2013 YM, 2015 & 2016 YM), Civic (2010, 2012 & 2013 YM), Insight (2011 - 2013 YM), CR-Z (2012 - 2013 YM), Freed (2010 – 2012 YM) and CR-V (2013 YM). 




Honda Malaysia assures customers that safety and offering the best product performance are the company’s priority.

Honda Malaysia ensures that other current selling models are not affected.

There have been no injuries or crashes related to this issue reported in Malaysia.

All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product update. Customers who receive the letter are advised to send their vehicles to the nearest authorized Honda dealer for inspection.
 
Should a replacement be required, the replacement of the battery will be carried once the parts are ready and all parts and labour charges related to this product update will be borne by Honda Malaysia.

Summary of Honda CEO Speech on February 24, 2016

Below is the summary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. President & CEO Takahiro Hachigo's speech which he gave in a press conference on February 24 (2016) to explain his future vision and direction for the company.

Introduction
When I assumed the presidency, I introduced two themes to be pursued for the creation of a new Honda.
   •Advancement of the six-region global operation structure
   •Development of challenging products unique to Honda
The Honda Walking Assist Device, which we began lease sales in Japan, is one example of “challenging products unique to Honda.” We are now preparing to evolve this business in Japan as well as in countries outside of Japan.
For the joy of our customers around the world, Honda wants to continue delivering attractive products unique to Honda through our broad range of businesses including motorcycle, automobile and power products businesses as well as HondaJet and Honda Walking Assist Device business.
At the same time, we recognize a need for a fundamental transformation of business operations especially with our automobile business in order to further strengthen our operational structures. To this end, we began taking some initiatives.

HONDA MALAYSIA ACHIEVES NO. 1 POSITION IN MALAYSIA IN THE NON-NATIONAL SEGMENT FOR 2015



Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd recorded an all-time high sales of 94,902 units for the year 2015, blazing the way for the Company to emerge as the No. 1 in Non-National Brand in terms of sales unit for the first time in its history.

The overall sales for 2015 increased by 22% compared to the 77,485 units recorded in year 2014. The City, Honda Malaysia’s best-selling model, contributed the highest percentage with 40% of the overall sales recorded. This was followed by the
well-received HR-V and the versatile Jazz with 21% and 18% contribution to the total sales respectively. The City, Jazz, HR-V and CR-V also maintained their lead in their respective segments in 2015.

Commenting on the good news, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno said, “The year 2015 turned out to be an outstanding and memorable year for Honda Malaysia. We started off the year with a challenging sales target of 85,000 units. We ended the year surpassing our target by 12% despite the tough and highly competitive market situation in 2015. In the month of December, Honda Malaysia also recorded the highest monthly sales in history with 10,741 units of vehicles sold.”

Mr. Ueno also shared that in 2014, Honda Malaysia achieved No. 1 in the Non-National Passenger Car Segment and pushed forward to achieve overall No. 1 in the Non-National Segment in 2015. This major improvement was made possible by the Challenging Spirit ingrained in every individual who contributed towards this achievement.

“On behalf of Honda Malaysia, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all Honda Malaysia customers for their trust and belief in our brand and for choosing Honda as their vehicle of choice. This record-breaking achievement would not have been possible without our valued customers. I would also like to thank the Malaysian government and business partners for their continuous support towards our endeavors here in Malaysia,” added Mr. Ueno.

HONDA MALAYSIA INTRODUCES CARNIVAL RED COLOUR FOR THE VERSATILE JAZZ

Petaling Jaya, 5 January 2016 – Honda Malaysia today announced the introduction of a new colour, Carnival Red, into the Jazz colour line-up. In addition to the exciting new colour, the Jazz (S Variant) also received various enhancements based on market feedback - the front grille is now in high-glossed black with chrome plating, the rear license garnish is also chrome plated and the door mirrors are now power adjustable for convenience.

TOKYO MOTOR SHOW NOV 2015 - by Gaijin-Garage.com


Gaijin-Garage flew over to Japan in October for the 44th Tokyo Motor Show for the Japan launch of the Production version NSX and of course the latest Civic Type R of which only 750 units will be sold in Japan.

For those of you who have never been to a Japanese Convention / Show / Expo, they certainly take it to the next level. The photo above is only the 'gateway' entrance into the 'Tokyo Big Sight' complex, the 'Lobby' that you walk through is bigger than most Motor Shows - certainly in Australia at least !

New 360 degrees film featuring Honda MotoGP Motorcycle vs Civic Type R vs Castrol Honda Touring Car

Honda has released a new 360 degrees film featuring a never before seen race between a Honda RC213V MotoGP Motorcycle, the new Civic Type R, and a Castrol Honda Touring car. Using a breakthrough filming technique that captures the action in 360 degrees, the viewer is able to ride alongside Honda’s World Touring Car drivers Gabriele Tarquini in his Civic Type R, and Tiago Monteiro in his Touring Car, as they power around Italy's Circuito Tazio Nuvolari.

HMRT wins the 2015 Sepang 1,000km (S1K) race.


 
Honda Malaysia Racing Team (HMRT) raced to victory at the Sepang 1000KM (S1K) Race last weekend. Honda’s signature “Challenging Spirit” was in its full glory as the team overcame obstacles and claimed the title.
